I've tried to order them from Dell and gotten no where, both through a business rep and one of their partners that does servers and storage.

The response back was that Dell was only interested in selling in very large quantities to customers that had very specific workloads.

If you only need a handful for a lab or build farm, they don't care to sell to you.
