I have to respectfully disagree here - this is like saying you shouldn't use jQuery, as it will kill the idea of remembering basic JavaScript.
I'd rather just get shit done (tm) than spend time learning all the nuances of cross browser css.

On the one hand, true, but on the other, it'll let them get started developing their actual site, rather than dig through obscure browser differences - thus making work more fun and easier to learn. At least in my experience.
