Btw, the reason for asking to avoid these things is not that there's anything intrinsically wrong with them. It's just that they evoke worse from others and put the threads into a doom spiral. That's the default outcome on the internet, so we're pretty proactive about trying to avoid it. If you find HN interesting enough to be here, then it's in your interest to contribute to that intention, since the default outcome (a.k.a. scorched earth) won't be interesting to anybody.
