Copyright law doesn't care about whether this is "monetizing" or not. He's infringing simply by using JK Rowling's characters; he's safe only thanks to JK Rowling saying that she doesn't mind HP fanfiction as long as it's not obscene and non-commercial.
So the only real question here is: What does JK Rowling think of this?
Sure. My point is, this is all based on her whims, not on any legal definitions. So "non-commercial" in this context just means whatever JK Rowling wants it to mean in this context.
Given that it's raising money for a charities, and that the donations only accelerate the publication rate, I would be surprised to see Rowling object when she hasn't objected to previous chapters.
Yum, sign me up! Meat without the animal cruelty and unsanitary conditions sounds like a win for everyone involved. It may also end up being far cheaper than 'natural' meat, due to economies of scale and fewer processing steps.
On a side note, we'll be able to have chicken grown in steak-sized and steak-textured pieces, or have a beef drumstick, or REAL turkey bacon. The future has so many cool new recipes!
If you're rich and not happy, inequality probably is a large part of why. The richer you get, the smaller the group of people exists that shares your problems... and the smaller your pool of potential friends becomes.
1 - Try taking a small step back away from the group, this will signify that you would rather listen. Once in this position, you can escape ('go mingle') more easily.
2 - Words of comfort really don't help, they're more of a tribal signal. They're still necessary.
3 - Try saying "I'm not sure how you got to this step/result, could you explain it in more detail for me?"
4 - About 1-2 seconds of travel away.
5 - Talk about what they like, try to find common interests. Most people won't refuse a snack or dessert either.
6 - It's just "Thank you", then shut up and wait. Anything else doesn't work.
It's not as easy to move out of the country as you seem to think, for a lot of us. Yes, it really is disturbing that I now live in a country that tortures people, and holds them for years without any trial at all. It's disturbing that it seems that humans are getting to be less and less important to our government than corporations all the time.
Still, what can I do? I'm disabled, and dependent on the government for survival. The only way I'm going to be able to get out of this country is by dying.
I agree, it's wonderful! Totally worth the price... I've had mine for several years now, and I've had to get a replacement because the first one died. It was in warranty, and it was replaced by support with no hassle at all. No cross-ship, no return shipment at all, just 'peel off the serial code, then trash it'.
I do like the story so far, and I'd hate for it to go poof because of legal issues.
